Summer Care Tips For Your Car

It’s the time of the year when not just humans, even our vehicles get exhausted. Yes, its summer time and our cars too need that extra care in this season. Here we give you a few tips to keep your car running in this hot weather.

Tyre Pressure :

The first and the foremost thing one should check in the car is tyre pressure. The excessive heat increases tyre pressure, during summers so the hotter it is, the more often you need to check them. Having the right tyre pressure can add ages onto the length of time that your tyres are operational for. Not only that, maintaining the correct pressure also improves the overall safety of your vehicle and helps you use less fuel, so is good for both the environment and your bank balance!

Windshield-wiper blades:

Indian weather is very unpredictable. If the sun is blazing one moment, the next moment there is a thunderstorm. Make sure that your windshield-wiper blades are in proper condition. And if the wiper blades are comparatively new, clean them properly with a good quality washer solvent.

Check the fuel tank:

Check your car’s hose connections more frequently in summer for possible leaks and damages. or for that matter, the oil after running the car engine for a while. It should appear clean on the testing stick and be at a sufficient level.

Clean Air Condition:

With the onset of summer, the air conditioner in your car is of the outmost important. It’s always necessary to check the gas in your air conditioner. If you see cold vapours coming out of the outlets, then get it checked by a mechanic- that may be indicative of low refrigerant levels.

Visit the Service station:

Timely visits to the service stations go a long way in maintaining the good health of your car, and it all the more important in the summers. Not only does it improves the fuel efficiency in your car, but also saves your car to avoid any possible breakdown.

Give your car a wash:

Getting your car washed every alternate day also helps in keeping your car cool. A good waxing just before the beginning of summers also helps to protect your exterior paint of your vehicle.

Park your car in the shade:

It’s actually a common sense here. Parking your car in a shade also helps in reducing the heat as the summer heat causes car gas to evaporate at a much faster rate.

Don’t leave children, pets or electronics in a parked car:

Temperatures inside a car can climb to more than 160 degrees. The heat can damage all laptop computers, music players, cameras and cell phones. Sports equipment also can be ruined–tennis racquet strings can weaken and so can the graphite shafts of golf clubs. Forgotten makeup products, like lipsticks, can melt and stain the car’s upholstery.

Finally, be it summer or no summer, maintain your speed limit. Keep a check on your speed while driving. Keep it cool and safe driving.
